She studied English and History at UCLA, and has spent years as a writer, researcher, and genealogical detective — work that taught her how to find the stories hiding in plain sight. Kate founded Heirloom Biographies on a simple belief: that every ordinary life, looked at closely enough, turns out to be extraordinary.

Why This Work Matters to Me
My dad passed away before I thought to ask him much of anything significant about his past. I don't know the details of his childhood, or what he was before he was my father, or what he'd have wanted his grandchildren to know.
That's part of why this business exists. I can't go back and ask him my questions now — but I can do this work for families who still have the chance.
